College and Career Counseling
The counseling department works closely with students to aid them in all aspects of the college application process. Information about various schools and their admission requirements are made available to all students through college catalogs and the annual college fair organized by the counseling department.

The counselor helps students complete applications for colleges and writes letters of recommendation as requested. The counselor also advises students on the best way to present themselves in interviews or personal essays that may be required as part of the college admissions process.

At the end of the academic year, the counseling department submits the names of the top 10% of the junior class to the University of California system for early admissions. This allows priority acceptance to the juniors for their coming senior year.
The counseling department also administers national academic tests such as PSAT/NMSQT and Plan Test. The PSAT is a pre-SAT test nominating students who score in a top 10% index to a scholarship that pays all four years of their college tuition. The Plan Test is a pre-ACT test, which prepares the students for higher index scores. Another test is the Stanford 9, administered on an annual basis to grades K-11. Through these tests the licensed professional identifies need areas of the students via statistical analysis.
