TCA Arshag Dickranian School Celebrates Mother’s Day
Los Angeles, May 16, 2012 - TCA Arshag Dickranian School celebrated Mother's Day on Sunday, May 6th, 2012 with a lavish fashion show and lunch organized and hosted by the PTO at the Taglyan Cultural Complex.
The event began at 12:00 p.m. with light snacks and cocktails served at the lobby of the complex, where School Board Members, parents, teachers, students and guests gathered enthusiastically waiting for the even to start. The guests were then invited into the plush hall of the Taglyan Complex where they were seated on tables designed with complimentary gifts which included fashionable nail polish and shiny hair clips.

While lunch was served by Divine Catering, students ranging from Pre-kindergarten to 12th grade took the runway showcasing the fashions of designer Ms. Eva Mejl with upbeat music in the background. The theme of the event was "Spring in Paris" as depicted by the colorful array of clothing and the hair accessories which were provided by Ms. Knarik Manzelian of "Addicted to Bejeweled".

Students also engaged in poetry recitations and songs dedicated to their mothers reflecting their gratitude for them and for their love, various Spanish dance performances in exquisite outfits, skits and a gymnastic performance by 7th grader Elizabeth Petrosian. Vendors were also present at the event, selling apparel and accessories.

"I would like to thank everyone who attended the event," said PTO Chairlady Mrs. Houri Taglyan - Kourouyan during her remarks, "Especially to our students for participating in this fashion show and for the time they put practicing." The Chairlady also recognized the Queen of Dance Fort Studios for training the students and providing the choreography, teachers Emma Umroyan, Alvard Uzunyan and Vergine Harutunyan for putting the program together, Divine Catering for providing the hall and their services at discount prices, Mrs. Gilda Petrosyan for donating the beautiful nail polish kits on the tables and, last but not least, the PTO vice chairperson Mrs. Armine Gasparyan for all her efforts in organizing this event.
The event was a successful program and aided the PTO in raising funds for the school, the proceeds of which will be directed to renovating the school office. The PTO will also reward the senior students for having participated in this event for the first time by raising funds that will be directed towards their graduation trip to Armenia after their commencement ceremony.
