Athletics
TCA Arshag Dickranian School views athletics and sports
as a major part of its curriculum. The school offers its students a strong educational experience in
athletics by providing the students with experienced coaches, guidance and necessary facilities.
Athletic Director
In September 2006, Mr. Rudolph Rameh was hired as the school's new Athletic
Director. Mr. Rameh is a graduate of Northwest Missouri State University and
holds a Master's Degree in Physical Education. In the past 25 years, Mr. Rameh
has attended numerous clinics and workshops for coaching and has coached
children of various ages in private schools and athletic clubs in Lebanon and
the US. Aside from his duties as the Athletic Director, Mr. Rameh is the head coach
for the girls' and boys' basketball, soccer and volleyball teams.
Teams
The school has Track & Field teams both for boys and girls; boys' and girls'
basketball teams, junior and senior soccer teams, as well as
boys' and girls' volleyball teams.
Scholastic Games
Aside from its Annual Athletic Field Day, the school athletes participate in the
KAHAM Tournaments (interscholastic Armenian teams from 1rst - 8th grades), AGBU basketball
games, The LA City & Park Recreation Competitions and The Salvation Army League in Hollywood.
Arshag Dickranian
School is proud of its soccer team Pee Wee (grades 1rst - 3rd grade), the
unbeaten champions of the soccer championship of Hollywood Parks &
Recreations. The school's basketball team won The Salvation Army Major
Basketball Division League in 2008 - 2009.
Special Events
TCA Arshag Dickranian School's teams are often granted the opportunity to play a
game before matches between major teams known nationwide, such as The Clippers
and Galaxy. The school's team members, students, teachers and parents have attended The
Harlem World Globetrotter's, Lakers and Clippers games. Other events include The Galaxy where previous team members have met stars and gotten
autographed pictures and balls.
